Sweet Vidalia Salad Dressing
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
Dry mustard
Celery seed
1 medium Vidalia onion, grated
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of vinegar (for added zest, try apple cider vinegar)
Place the sugar, salt, mustard and celery seed into a small saucepan. Stir it well and then add the grated onion, oil and vinegar. Begin heating the mixture over medium heat until the sugar is melted completely. Allow the mixture to cool some and then transfer it to a covered bowl or dressing cruet. You can serve as a warm dressing or refrigerate it.
